August 15, 2012, Khuraira Cosmetics opens its first
flagship store on the African continent. The location serves as a makeup
academy as well as a retail and distribution center. The store is a carbon copy
of the flagship boutique in Tenafly, NJ and is expected to offer the superior service Khuraira
Cosmetics is known for in the USA.
It is located at shop D36, Area 11 Shopping mall, Abuja, Nigeria.

In 2004, Nigeria
born celebrity makeup artist Khuraira, one of the most sought after in the USA,
founded the company with the goal to make every woman look flawless regardless
of skin tone or skin condition therefore her slogan: making the world flawless, one face at a time. She knew she was
creating possibly the most advanced makeup line in the world, but little did
she know that a few years later, leading beauty editors in the USA, celebrities
such as OPRAH, and top TV producers would be raving about her products or that
her innovative K-PRO airbrush makeup system would be an integral part of one of
the most prestigious Beauty Schools in the USA: Parisian Beauty Academy, a Paul
Mitchell partner school. “All that is humbling”, says the Jos native, “Having a

stuff; but there is nothing like coming back home and building something that
would better the lives of so many young women and therefore so many families. And
this is just the beginning”.

The Academy is the materialization of the company’s long
term goal of empowering women across the globe. It teaches aspiring makeup
artists innovative American makeup techniques and provides them with a rewarding
trade in a country where unemployment among young women is alarmingly high. Students
can enroll for a 2-week class to learn the technique of flawless makeup for
weddings and other occasions, opt for the 4-week curriculum focusing on the Hollywood technique of airbrush makeup using the recently
unveiled Khuraira K-Pro airbrush system or the 6-week advanced program which
adds photo-shoot, editorial and avant-garde makeup techniques to the
curriculum. Beside the artistic aspect of makeup, students also learn the
business aspect of the trade. Upon
graduating from the 4 and 6 –week courses, students receive among other tools, a certificate and a complete K-PRO airbrush
makeup kit that includes a professional grade airbrush compressor, foundations,

At the retail end, the store intends to end the rampant practice
by many makeup companies of pushing the wrong foundation shades on women. It
reflects Khuraira Cosmetics core philosophy of teaching versus selling for
selling sake. Women are sold just the right products that allow them to achieve
a flawless look. Best of all they are taught the right way to use them.
The store also offers airbrush makeup services for weddings
and other social occasions.
